Nairobi Plane Ride & Landing

We're about "15 minutes time" from landing in Nairobi, Kenya and I'm just trying to go into Africa with an open mind. Who knows what all I will be doing while I'm here, but I'm really excited/nervous/anxious to find out more details.Lunch and dinner on the plane were both fairly good.  British Airways does a really good job of serving culturally relevant food to either the place you are landing or the place you are coming from which I've appreciated. What better way to become culturally acclimated than through a little food! :)Lunch was an option of something with mushrooms or chicken so I went the chicken route again and got the African Támarind Chicken Filler which had some spicy rice and mixed green vegetables. I was so excited to see one of my favorites, okra, in the medley! It was almost made just like my mom makes it at home. (Remind me to learn how to cook that before college!) It came with pretzels, a pasta dish, crackers with Irish and British butters, a donut like item, and my personal favorite - the chocolate and orange spice pudding! Mmm, it was all very good. The dinner snack included chicken salad sandwiches,  a scone, and strawberry jam...it was also delicious! I again had hot tea with milk. This plane is about the same size, if not slightly larger than the last plane I was on. It's an older model and it was very stinky when we boarded. The flight attendants walked through the aisles spraying an equivalent to Febreeze and that helped a little. On this plane trip, I slept much more than any of the others. I'm exhausted! The leg room is minuscule so I'm definitely going to be stretching when I get off, but overall it was a nice flight and the two older gentleman I am sitting by seem to be very nice. The little screen on the back of the seat is still there, but it doesn't have real time tracking of the flight which was a bit of a bummer. I've had my share of planes, airports, and flying for the day! I'm anxious to land and meet the driver, get my heavy luggage (I wish mom were here to help!), use the restroom, and travel to the icipe headquarters here in Nairobi where I'll be staying for two days.
